Harika Narayan is an inspiring singer of the present generation. She has undeniably created a mark for the current youngsters that following dreams and passion will surely lead one to a successful career. She is one of the successful singers and has been a part of the blockbuster albums as Black Rose, by Mani Sharma (Music Director) and Sarkaru Vari Paata by S. S. Thaman. Harika always embraces and gets inspired by the work of world-class music icons Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera.
She has not only outshined as a singer but also has been part of many major film projects by acting in them. Harika Narayan even received the honorable Delhi – Telugu Music awards from the hands of the Vice president of India Mr. Sri Venkaiah Naidu Garu. Harika Narayan is the great grand daughter of Padma Vibhushan Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna Garu, he was a famous Indian Carnatic vocalist and musician.
In fact, Harika Never wanted to become a Musician instead, she was very much interested in becoming a Mechanical Engineer pursuing Masters or Post Graduation in AutoMobile Engineering.

Harika was born in East Godavari District, Rajol (Andhra Pradesh, India) on 4th October 1995. She was born to Mr. K. V. Lakshmi Narayana an Ex Indian Air Force Serviceman and Mrs. K. V. Nagalakshmi. Her father is now working at HSBC Bank, he is from Hyderabad and her mother is from East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh, India.
She has trained in music since her childhood under many famous musicians. She mentions her musical gurus as her Mother K. V. Naga Lakshmi, since the second standard, and later she had to move to Hyderabad so she took training under the guidance of her aunt BVNL. Padmavati.
In the year 2011, she started training under Sri D. V. Mohana Krishna and continued to be his student for 10 – Ten long years. Even received many certificates and completed a diploma in music under his guidance. Then later started to learn Light Music under Sri K. Ramachary.
Harika has a younger brother K. Yashwanth, he is now pursuing his career as Chartered Accountant – CA. Yashwanth is very much passionate about music, he is currently getting trained under the western classical guitar and has always been Harika’s support pillar.
Harika Narayan has been in a number of schools in her childhood till her eighth standard as her father then was an Air Force officer. Later, she studied in Dilsukhnagar public school and completed her schooling.
She then later joined Sri Chaitanya Junior College to complete her intermediate education. Thereafter, she entered Anurag University which is famously known as CVSR Engineering college, Hyderabad, Telangana, and chose Mechanical Engineering as her mainstream.
Though Harika Narayan started going to college she never gave up her interest in music so she parallelly received a Diploma in Carnatic Vocal classical and she did not stop there and started her PG – Post Graduation in Carnatic Vocal, M.A (Master Of Arts) in Music from Padmavati University, Tirupathi, India which is well known as S.V University.
While pursuing 2nd year of her Btech – Bachelors education she got selected as a chorus singer in Swarabhishekam (A singing contest telecasted in ETV in the Telugu Language), then later went to auditions of Paadutha Theeyaga (A Singing contest telecasted in ETV in the Telugu Language) and even got selected. But Harika couldn’t be a part of the Paadutha Theeyaga contest as she was already taking part in Swarabishekam.
She worked as an assistant director for the Paadutha Theyaga contest for 2 years. Then later after working 6 months at Swarabhishekam, Harika received an offer to perform in a concert being held in the USA, along with Balu (S.P.Balasubrahmanyam) sir and his team.
It was a very critical situation for her to make a decision because she then had her final semester exams to be held in the same month. Then on her father’s encouragement and her strong gut to take part in the concert, she flew to the USA and successfully has been a part of it. The trip was held for about two and a half months.
Once she was back in India, she started balancing her education and music as always and has completed her bachelor’s with flying colors and pursued her career as a Musician and Singer.
Harika Narayan acted in Films as Brahmotsavam, Mukunda, and Syera. All the films are in the Telugu Language.
She has been part of many concerts and Music reality shows.
Harika took part in various music reality shows and competitions as Swarabhishekham, Paadutha Theeyaga, Bol Baby Bol ( Worked as a Mentor in Rising Star Series of the contest), Aalapana, Saamaja Vara Gamana, Sing Dil Se – National Hindi Singing Competition, she has been a finalist in the contest, Annamaya Paata Ku Pattabhishekam and even Worked as an Assistant Director For “Paadutha Theeyaga” for 2 years.
As years passed, she later was given an opportunity to be a playback singer. She has sung songs for many Telugu movies as Geetha Govindam, Suryakantham, Kaatamarayudu, Hello, I Love You, Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayulu, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya Title Song, A 2 A – Ameerpet to America.
Harika started singing chorus recordings for various movies and made her debut with two – 2 songs in the film Suryakantham released in February month of 2019 under the Music Direction of Mark K Robin.
Then later she got the opportunity to sing for two different movies as Mallesham and Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya under the same music director. She has sung the title song of the film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya.
Thenceforth she has got a huge fan base and many opportunities too. Harika then has sung Anamaya Patakau Pattabhi Shekam under composition of music director Madhukar. After listening to this song of her, M.M.Keeravani – Music Director then approached her and asked to perform in a few demo sessions for his upcoming songs.
Harika was even given an opportunity to sing Thiruppavai in Telugu of Bapu ramana garu, it’s the 26th Pasuram, Vaikuntha Baluda under keeravani sir music composition. Thereafter, she has sung a song under the music composition of S.S.Thaman for the title song Sarkar Vaari Paata title song, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
It was never easy for her. Moreover, she struggled a lot while singing for western movie songs as she has come from a classical singing background. She never felt downhearted but instead realized her flaws as her strengths and started exploring herself in various music forms.
She then started Practicing harder and increased boundaries, even realized the importance of involving the soul to explore more.
Thereafter, Harika started exploring herself and knowing her strength in the form of music and started listening to world music, blues, jass, and many others. By following and practicing various forms she then felt that she can even justify and excel western music if practiced well. Has been a part of 9 impressions musical video, Edale’s – Hello.
Harika Narayan has not only performed in reality shows but she even made into many concerts performed in foreign countries. The Concerts in which she participated are,
- USA Tour in the years 2015 and 2016 with the legendary Sri S. P. Balasubhramanyam garu and his team.
- Dubai Tour for a concert at “Gama Awards 2017”
- Australia Tour in the year 2017 for Dussehra Festival and Bathukamma Celebrations.
- USA Tour in 2018 for concerts organized by different Telugu associations.
- Even visited London, UK – United Kingdom, and performed in the live concerts of that place.
Harika has always Dreamt to compose music as an independent artist by getting a hold on all the amazing music genres available. She even wants to excel or master playing Veena – a musical instrument and to sing each and every song as an emotion or story
The main ambition of HarikaNarayan is to travel to different places of the world and explore the musical heritage of that place and get to know about different music instruments
Harika Narayan is Currently working with Manisharma, Mahati Sagar, and S. S. Thaman on their projects.
