Kruthika Roy was born on August 12, 1995, to Mr. Uday Kumar Roy and Mrs. Sujani Roy in the beautiful city of Pearls, Hyderabad. Her father is a well-known businessman, and her mother is a homemaker. She has an elder sister who got married and is now settled in London.
Education and Interests
Coming to her educational background. She completed her schooling at St. Ann’s and Rosary Convent School. Then, she went for intermediate at Kakatiya College and graduated from St. Mary’s College, Yousufguda. She later completed a Master’s degree at Greenwich University in London.
After the completion of her education, she returned to India, and started exploring her talents, she worked in companies like Google, Facebook for a couple of months each to know how it felt like to do a 9-5 Job, after which she resigned and started her own milk shake brand called Shake Theory, She was also into fashion Designer, designing Indo-western couture and then finally decided to pursue her career as an actress and a model.
Some Childhood Tales…
She shared about her college and school memories, saying that she was not a bookworm and was not really into subject knowledge but she liked learning life outside of books. Kruthika has always been quirky, since her childhood. When she was in 7th and 8th grades, she would often go on cycles for long drives with friends to explore the haunted places around, and then she would end up eating good street food and would roam around on cycles. There was a very good and friendly atmosphere at her home, her parents gave her the freedom to just be her.
Hobbies
If we talk about her hobbies, she is a fitness freak; she likes to collect anything that looks smaller than the usual size. She redecorates her room very often. She is interested in DIY, and also shows immense interest in researching ancient skin care and making her own skin and hair care products at home.
A Lifetime Journey…
She has always been interested in stepping into the limelight, but she did not try anything earlier. At the time, she was dating someone and wanted to see him as an actor. On one of those days, where she accompanied him for an audition for one of the projects, She was asked to audition, and she was selected. That was a heartwarming moment for her. The project she was chosen for was called The Sick Love and was to be aired on the Aha platform. But unfortunately, the project was canceled in the middle. After which she got her first big project called Modern Love, from then on her journey to achieve her goals in the industry began.
Kruthika Roy started her film career after COVID. She draws inspiration from the prominent actresses, Nayantara and Mrunal Thakur. Kruthika admires the roles and performances they gave.
Talking about her first opportunity, she shared that it was a Hollywood series remake, called Modern Love, which is streamed on Amazon Prime which is directed by Ms.Devika. Kruthika played a role named Rashi; she was very happy and privileged to be a part of the series, which featured big names like Revathy Garu, Suhasini Garu, Nitya Menon, and many others. She also shared that it felt like a blessing to start on such a good note.
Her next release was on Etv win, for a series called Sasi Madhanam in which she played a cameo.
In between acting, she also has been into modeling and did a couple of theatrical ads, the biggest being the one for Ramanaidu Studios.
She has also done a couple of jewelry ads and commercial ads.
Upcoming
She played as a lead in a movie called Katha Kamamishu, a film directed by Mr. Goutham. The movie is yet to be released. Kruthika said that she had the best time working on the movie; it was wonderful to work with directors Goutham and karthikeya.
Next, she has another movie coming up with Halo Hues Production House called Golden Hour. In this movie, she plays the lead role too.
While working on this movie with the team, she felt like she was working with a bunch of friends because the team was so supportive and friendly. It was her third time with the same DOP in the same month.
First, she shot for Sasi Madhanam; secondly, she worked on a music album with Sunny Austin called Gola Gola, and third was the film Golden Hour, she mentioned that he is a super dedicated and a talented DOP.
Current Projects
She is currently shooting for Shine Screens, directed by Koushik (chaavu kaburu challaga fame), for an important role. She is also shooting for the Mansion House web series.
Kruthika is known for her adventurous spirit and humorous nature, Kruthika has always been curious and explorative. Initially, her sudden entry into acting now became her passion. She continues to work on exciting projects and is ready to establish herself as a rising star in the industry.
