As they say, your first friend and teacher are your parents. He made his mother his best friend. Since he has no siblings, he spends most of his time watching TV or movies to pass the time. Later, he developed a strong interest in old Hindi movies and started watching ZEE cinema regularly, which is why he became so passionate about movies. He has lovely memories with his mother, playing cricket and watching movies together. He mentioned that his love for movies comes from his mother and his talent for acting comes from his father; his father has always been a great actor. He shared a memory: before his father’s marriage, Mr. Shekvali used to act in dramas; he was a theater artist. He was quite popular among his peers and known for his role as Krishna, but after his parents’ marriage, Mahaboob’s grandfather sent his father to Mumbai to learn fashion design.

Struggles and Challenges

Everything was a dream before he achieved it and started living his dreams. He did not visit any area of FilmNagar or Film City to find the chance. However, he just gave one audition and got selected.

He was only 14 years old when he debuted his first movie. However, he struggled for his first release because it did not go well. Then he again attended an audition for the movie Memu Vayasuku Vacham, and it went well, which brought him recognition and fame for the Autowala (Ismayil) character in 2012. This movie brought him into the spotlight. He got many offers after that movie and started working on his next film while also managing his studies in college.

When his first movie was released, it did not go well on the big screens, and he was very disappointed then. His parents told him to leave the films and continue his studies. It took three long years to get a chance to act in the movie Memu Vayasuku Vacham. He continued to study and act in the movies simultaneously. He did not have that much interest in studying, but he had to complete his MBA because of his father’s wish.

Mahaboob’s parents always supported him, and after that, he remembers the director Teja, who introduced him to the movies, and the director Trinadha Rao Nakkina, who gave him his first memorable hit movie, Memu Vayasuku Vacham, which was a huge achievement for his career.

Inspiration

He draws inspiration from his mother; he grew up watching her, which reflects in his nature. Not only his mother but he is also inspired by lots of people in various stages of his career. He also gets inspired by a watchman. He believes that “if we crave knowledge, we can learn it from anyone. If it is a good thing, then we can take it from anyone, not just superstars or big celebrities. There are so many unsung actors in our society.”

His experience has been amazing till now; he got the chance to work with the top technicians in his first movie, like the top cinematographer, Mr. PC Sreeram, and the director, Mr. Teja. His first character has only 4 scenes, but after watching his incredible performance, the director, Teja, added 7 more scenes to the movie. When he remembers his days of the shoot, when he used to sleep in the director’s office, it was his most memorable moment of life.
