Meet Shilpa Tanguturu, an inspiring and passionate individual whose work and determination are making an impact in the industry.
Shilpa Tanguturu was born on July 19, 1984, in Guntakal, to Mr. Thirupalaiah Shetty and Mrs. Shyamala. Her father is an engineer in the railways, and her mother is a dedicated homemaker. Shilpa has one younger brother named Sudheer, and they have a close-knit bond.
Education and Early Life
She completed her matriculation from Guntakal, Anantapur district, and then moved on to Intermediate in Kurnool. She followed her passion for fashion design. She pursued her degree in fashion at Hamstech, Hyderabad. Also, she did a fashion show as a designer during her college years. But she married in the first year of her degree when she was 19, in 2003. And the couple had a son, at the age of 21.
Later on, after her 15 years of marriage as a homemaker, she expressed her desire to complete her fashion designing course and with the support of her husband, son, and family she finished college.
Career
Additionally, Shilpa completed her internship at a handloom-based company Studio Bustle, where she joined as an intern but never got a chance to look back for more than three years. This internship turned out to be an amazing career opportunity for her. While working as an intern, she built many invaluable connections with various stylists and celebrities, which led her into the movies. While working at the Studio Bustle, her incredible designs were worn by actors Samantha, Nithya Menon, Niharika Konidela, Malvika Nair, Dimple Hayathi, Anasuya, Singer Prudhvi Chandra, Saketh Komanduri, and other celebrities.
She also had the opportunity to work on an exciting and mind-blowing movie, Project K or Kalki. However, she couldn’t commit to it due to her son’s IIT preparations.
Passion and Inspiration
Furthermore, she is a movie lover; she draws inspiration from the veteran actor Chiranjeevi. Her passion for fashion began early; she used to design her clothes during her college days. Later on, she converted her passion into a career.
Shilpa enjoys a fulfilling life after marriage, and together with her husband and son who is currently doing B.Tech (3rd year). Balancing her personal and professional lives, Shilpa continues to thrive and inspire.
Achievements
Shilpa’s first major film industry project is “Aay,” from GA2 Banner.
It’s a great pleasure to work with the director Chandoo Mondeti for “Thandel” from Geetha Arts, and the third is “Mr. Bachchan” from PMF.
Each project highlights her growth and success as a talented fashion designer and stylist. All of the films in which she worked as a costume designer have yet to hit the big screen.
It was a fantastic experience collaborating with Mr. Raviteja and Mr. Harish Shankar. She also worked as a costume designer in an advertisement for Mr. Harish Shankar alongside Allu Arjun which was her dream.
Shilpa Tanguturu has carved her unique path in the entertainment industry. She is perfectly balancing her professional ambitions and personal life. Shilpa’s journey from beginnings to becoming a prominent personality, fashion designer, and stylist is a testament to her hard work, passion, and perseverance.
